Labour-hire entities safety duties
Labour-hire entities must comply with the safety duties imposed under the Rail Safety (Local Operations) Act 2006.
Definition of a labour-hire entity
A labour-hire entity is a person - including an individual, body corporate, unincorporated body or association, or partnership - who supplies a rail infrastructure manager or rolling stock operator with labour to carry out railway operations.
Specific safety duties of a labour-hire entity
The specific duties of labour-hire entity are to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, that:
- The person employed or engaged to provide services to a rail infrastructure manager is competent
- The person employed or engaged to provide services to a rolling stock operator is competent, so far as is reasonably practicable.
