Compliance operations: Phillip Island and Twelve Apostles

Our staff undertook compliance operations at Phillip Island (30 and 31 January) and Twelve Apostles (2 and 3 February).
These are the results.
Phillip Island
- 75 buses inspected
- 9 buses found with fire extinguisher not maintained in operating condition
- 6 buses issued with defect notices (buses and trailers)
- 3 bus drivers issued with infringement notices for breaching driver accreditation requirements
- 1 bus driver found to be driving a bus while having their licence suspended (to be subject to court action)
- 2 bus service providing a commercial bus services without holding bus operator accreditation (to be subject to investigation and possible prosecution).
Twelve Apostles
- 86 buses inspected
- 10 buses found with fire extinguisher not maintained in operating condition
- 17 buses issued with defect notices (buses and trailers)
- 6 bus drivers issued with infringement notices for breaching driver work diary, driver accreditation issues or use of unsafe vehicle
- 1 bus service providing a commercial bus service without holding bus operator accreditation (to be subject to investigation and possible prosecution).
